In light of the recent publishing environment, I wished to clarify how my books and covers are made. All my books are written by me, drawn from the world in my mind and put to screen by my own fingers. No part of my work utilizes AI or LLMs, nor will I ever do so. (I type over 100 wpm so I don’t even use dictation, because I type faster than I talk. *grins*)
Trust me, I have more story ideas than I will probably ever write; I do not need a computer to generate ideas for me. Part of the enjoyment of writing is seeing where and how the story unfolds, to tap into the character and let them take the wheel as the story happens. This is not something any computer could ever do, and certainly not with my set of life and lived experiences.
My covers are also all made by me. I purchase stock photos from a stock photo site which doesn’t allow the sale of AI generated photos. All work is done in Photoshop CS2 which doesn’t have AI built in.
I will do my best to vet those authors whose books I share in my newsletter and whose covers I post on my website to ensure that they do not use AI to write or create their books.
