Last month I did an AMA type event over on Mastodon and I really had a lot of fun. One of the questions I was asked was “will you ever make a course on writing about horses?”. Now I know there’ve been a couple of books on the topic, and I either have purchased them or they’re on a list to purchase (at this point I’ve bought so many books for grad school I can’t remember), and I rather want to read them before I commit to anything because I want to know how the material has been covered before. But the answer to the question is, I’ve really thought about it, and it’s something I’d like to do.
Of course then that leads to all sorts of questions for the way my technical mind works. What format? Would something like a book, or rather a bunch of blog posts turned into a book, work? Or would video help, especially since I have willing subjects for the most part. Some kind of combined media since undoubtedly there would be some figures involved, especially when talking about confirmation or tack.
And then there’s the question about where to post a course, especially if I do something multi-media like. Do I keep it here, keep it with my author education over at Epona Author Solutions?
While I’m sure those asking about the course really don’t care as long as they can find the information, they are still things that I want to work out before I offer such a course. My question for you as you’re reading this is do you have a preference for form, content, or even what you’d like to see covered? If so, drop me a comment. I’m all ears.
