I love crossovers. Being able to bring together multiple series into a single volume, to drop those easter eggs that tell the reader that a certain world or a certain series also exists elsewhere is really part of the joy of writing. To me, I envision my writing, all the genres, as part of a large universe in which everything exists. I just choose to focus on a single part of it, such as the equestrian literature.
Right now I’m working on a novella, tentatively titled Heart on Course that brings together my Noble Dreams series and my Heart Compass Stable series. This book will be a permafree story like Gift on Course, a free novella in the Noble Dreams series, and it’s my hope that I can use it to bring readers into each series since Noble Dreams was published under a previous pen name.
In addition to being a way to bring together these two equestrian series, one of the reasons why I am loving working on this project is that the final book in the Noble Dreams series was published at the end of 2020. That means the characters are all five years older. I’m not sure everything that’s happened to them since the end of the series, but I do know a few things that have happened and am hoping to work that into the story.
To me part of having cozy reads is that you can see characters that you (hopefully) enjoyed and catch up with them. I hope my readers enjoy that too, and I look forward to bringing you this crossover and more to come.
Kit writes equestrian literature (aka horse stories for those who still enjoy horses and equestrian sport) and equestrian romances as Kit M Caelsto. You can also find past equestrian works written under a prior pen name on this site as well. With over 20 books published, I’m sure you’ll find something to enjoy.
