I’m really close to re-releasing one of my fantasy books (dragons!) that has sparked an idea (NOOOOOOO! (said the way Kirk says KHAAAAAAAN!) for ways to add to my academy series. Still getting my feet back underneath me from that burnout or whatever the hell it was spell I had from late September to recently, but I’ve updated Through A Portal Storm until February and about to update The Search for Apollo’s Chalice into the new year. Which is why I’m taking a moment to send a whole lot of gratitude into the universe.
I know thanksgiving posts are kind of cliched this time of year, and I get it. I don’t even really celebrate Thanksgiving, just appreciate the days off work (theoretically) and use it as an excuse to cook a bigger than usual meal so we can eat left overs. We cook cornish hens instead of a turkey; fewer leftovers that way. And pumpkin pies will be made throughout the fall season because the spice must flow.
But this year, as I transitioned into this new pen name, bringing some books with me and figuring out how I want to keep writing equestrian lit, and what to do with my former pen name’s books, I just want to say thank you. To the readers who have stayed subscribed to my newsletter, even after my not sending it for about eighteen months. To the new readers I’ve discovered in the Fediverse and all around social media. To my friends who have supported me during some very difficult times this year (and really during The Big Burnout of 2021 to late 2023.) To my spouse who is also an author and an artist.
