Sun and shadow, dark and light. This story is a duology with Luna Lucet showcasing the other point of view and was inspired by Mercedes Lackey's filk song, Sun and Shadow.

A flamen (priest) of Apollo is denied membership into an elite order of priests because of his disability--he has night terrors in the dark due to a traumatic incident as a child. But he's determined to compose something new during the total eclipse, so with his rooster socius, Lyre, and his violin, he goes to the gazebo in the facility he lives in for disabled mages.

But he's not alone. Someone has been drawn to the gazebo. By whom, he doesn't know, but suddenly he discovers, he's not alone. The only problem is she's photosensitive and can't bear more than the slightest hint of sunlight.
