I’m in a strange spot right now writing because both of the serialized novels I’ve been writing for the Muse Happens Community are finished! I mean hooray. It’s exciting as these are both the longest works I’ve written in a very long time, and I’m so thrilled with them, and can’t wait to dive in to start the sequels. Yes, there are sequels planned. According to my plan, I’ll be starting the sequel to Through The Portal Storm in August and the sequel to The Search for Apollo’s Chalice in October. That will give me plenty of time to edit both books and get them up either for pre-order or sale.
I finished the short stories and articles I wanted to write for April, and I have three short stories I want to write for May, but really, as I finish my college days and transition into trying to turn my college degree into self-employment, I will pretty much be taking the month of May off from heavy writing (keeping up with my Patreon, of course, and those short stories). But this leaves me in between projects, in limbo as it were, or at least moving slowly (like the sloth in the profile picture) toward the next destination.
I’m certainly not taking a month off. Not by a long shot. I have several stories that I have completed and need to release; I have my first young adult equestrian academy story, Gaits of Magic, releasing on May 21 (May 10 if you pre-order it from me.) and I want to keep working on updating and re-releasing some of my older fantasy. I’m also working on some big website projects, and I have a to-do list spreadsheet that would make a 7 dimensional chess grandmaster extremely proud.
But I do find myself in that liminal space where all writers eventually end up every now and then where they have finished one project and aren’t quite ready to begin a new one. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy this slower time. Maybe take a look at those May flowers that are supposed to bloom. And who knows what the month will bring? I’ll keep you posted.
