Recently I sold my short story, Viva Branson! to an anthology featuring Elvis-related speculative fiction stories. I’m not going to lie. I’m old enough that I had a family member who was a huge Elvis fan, and I still have my box of 45 records with Elvis songs on them. We listed to Elvis’s Christmas album in our household, and so when the short story call came across my feed, I knew I had to write something for it.

My hero is an Elvis impersonator, part of the Musimagium whose magic only works when he is singing Elvis songs. He set himself up in Branson, because why not, and is set on a mission to capture someone from his past. He doesn’t want to be singing Jailhouse Rock.

I had such a blast writing this story, and I hope my enjoyment comes through. Here’s the cover.

The anthology is releasing soon from Sense8 publishing.
